Francisco Chavez (P.I. and Executive Committee) has been elected to the 2014 class of American Geophysical Union Fellows. Only 0.1% of the AGU members become fellows, and nominees must have a major breakthrough or discovery, paradigm shift, or sustained impact attributed to them to meet the primary criteria for consideration. Congratulations to Francisco!
We would like to congratulate CeNCOOS PI and Executive Committee member Francisco Chavez on winning the 2014 Ed Ricketts Memorial Award. The award is given annually by the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary to honor a person who has exhibited exemplary work throughout their career and advanced the status of knowledge in the field of marine science.
