Dr. Diana LaScala-Gruenewald joined CeNCOOS in March 2020 as a Data Scientist to help integrate long-term monitoring data into existing publicly-accessible data portals. She completed her PhD at Stanford University in 2017, where she studied the roles of competition, behavioral plasticity, and sensory perception in the foraging behavior of intertidal limpets. She worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, tracking commercially fished lobsters inside and adjacent to marine reserves and providing data to inform reserve design and later participated in the Insight Data Science Fellowship.
