  • Station Description

    The Monterey Bay Aquarium station is located at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey. The site consists of two parts. The sea water data comes from instruments mounted in the sea water intake for the aquarium located in the aquarium's pump house. The Meteorological sensors are from sensors mounted on the 3rd floor of the aquarium. A buoy was deployed for a short time off shore of the aquarium but is isn't there anymore. The station has been operational since 1995. Although, a sensor has been at the aquarium since 1989. This station is maintained by staff of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and is part of the Monterey Bay Aquarium project.
