In December 2025, we met with our Governing Council to discuss planning for the upcoming funding proposal, including the anticipated NOFO timeline and adjustments needed to align current spending with projected funding levels. The Ocean Protection Council shared updates on its strategic plan, Proposition 4 funding, and ocean science programs, while NOAA representatives provided updates on agency priorities and leadership changes. The Council also reviewed budget allocations for ocean observing programs and discussed governance and outreach efforts, including new membership and approval of the budget for CeNCOOS’s coastal observations program.
